How To

What is a battery pack and how do I replace it?

A battery pack provides the primary power source for the motors in your drone. They provide enough power that your quadcopter can fly safely and smoothly.

You won't notice any differences between the battery packs in a new drone and the one you have before. However, the battery pack will eventually wear down. Eventually, it might stop working altogether. To ensure your drone continues to operate properly, you'll have to replace its battery pack.

It is recommended to use the original replacement part when replacing a battery. If you install a faulty pack, your drone could be damaged.

Follow these steps to replace a battery.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the battery connector. This will ensure your drone doesn't get any electric current. Simply pull the cable from the drone to disconnect the battery connector.
  2. Remove the battery pack. Remove the battery pack from your quadcopter's bottom. The battery pack often splits into two pieces.
  3. Locate the battery contacts. After you've taken out the battery pack, search for the battery contacts. These tiny metal pins connect to the battery and other components of the drone.
  4. Install the battery. Next, you will need to install the battery into the drone. Then align the battery connectors on the battery pack's two sides. Next, place the battery pack on the drone. Once this is done, tighten your bolts to secure the battery pack.
  5. Reattach the connector cable to the battery. Connect the drone's battery connector cable once you have installed the new pack.
  6. Test the drone. Make sure your drone is still working properly before you take it out again. Congratulations!
