How To

Repairing A Drone's Damaged Motor

The first step toward repairing a damaged motor is to identify what part of the motor is broken. The best way to do so is to take the propeller off the motor shaft. Then remove any wires and take a look at the motor's inner workings. If you find something wrong, it is time to identify the problem.

You don't need to worry if there's no damage to your motor. However, a motor that looks like the one below will require you to replace certain components before you can fly again.

Imagine that the motor has become bent to the point it will not turn. The motor will need to be bent back into its original shape. To hold the motor, use a vice grip or pair of pliers. After this is done, you should inspect the motor carefully for any signs or wear.

Once everything looks good, you can put the propeller back on the motor shaft. Then, reattach the wires. Your drone is now ready to fly!
